Flea control can be tricky, especially because they are known to reproduce quickly – just like bunnies, though nowhere near as cute or cuddly. According to a Pest Bulletin released by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, female fleas can lay as many as 25 eggs a day for three weeks. That's an average of 525 flea eggs from one adult female flea. Unfortunately, if your dog has fleas, these eggs might already be all over your home. Once the eggs have been laid they fall off their host and land in the carpet, onto your dog's bed or on his favorite piece of furniture. The LA County Department of Public Health had several recommendations on how to kill fleas and suggested that pet owners treat both their pet and their home to make sure to get each flea and every one of their eggs.
